We are thrilled to announce a major milestone for the Australia Burundi Scholarship Fund (ABSF). We have officially signed five-year Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with our partners, marking a new era of stability and growth for our mission.
A Unified Approach to Education
Providing comprehensive support requires trust and teamwork. By locking in these 5-year relationships, we guarantee a structured approach to student success alongside our partners:
Global Hand Charity: Global Hand Charity provides the essential infrastructure and governance that allow the ABSF to operate. Their oversight ensures every scholarship is managed with transparency and local expertise.
EPCM (Bujumbura): Based in the nation’s economic capital, EPCM delivers high-standard learning and technical skills, ensuring our students are prepared for the modern workforce.
DELFT (Rumonge): Our partnership with DELFT secures a dedicated educational pathway for students in the Rumonge province, providing them the resources to complete their secondary schooling.
Why This Matters
A five-year commitment provides the stability our students need to focus on their studies. This formal framework ensures:
Long-Term Sustainability: We are moving from year-to-year planning to a solid five-year vision for student success.
Seamless Coordination: Clearer communication and resource management between the ABSF, Global Hand Charity, and school administrations.
Direct Impact: A streamlined process to ensure that support for tuition, uniforms, and supplies reaches every student effectively.
Looking Ahead
Since 2023, the ABSF has supported over 140 students. By locking in these partnerships, we are building a permanent foundation for change. We are incredibly grateful to the teams at Global Hand Charity, EPCM, and DELFT for their dedication to the youth of Burundi.
